Sanat Sosyolojisi Üzerine: Belirli Kavramsal Gerilimler ve İkilikler

Abstract

Bu makale sanat sosyolojisi ile sanat yazını arasındaki disipliner sınırlardan ve sanatın farklı tariflerinden kaynaklanan

temel bir kavramsal ve metodolojik gerilimden yola çıkmaktadır. Bu makale, sanat sosyolojisi alanına giren yaklaşımları

ele almaktan ziyade birbiriyle bağlantılı iki temel iddia üzerinde temellenmektedir. Makalenin ortaya koyacağı birinci

iddia sanatın Arthur Danto tarafından yapılan ontolojik tanımından esinlenilerek bir imge olarak tanımlanabileceği iddiasıdır.

Bir imge olarak kavranan sanatın sadece sanat üzerine felsefi ya da estetik düşünümü değil sanatın sosyolojisini de

derinden dönüştürebileceği ise ikinci iddiayı oluşturmaktadır.

On the Sociology of Art: Pointed Conceptual Tensions and Dualities

Abstract

This article explores a conceptual and methodological tension between the sociology of art and art literature that emerges

from their respective disciplinary boundaries and different conceptualizations of art. Rather than addressing particular

theories pertinent to the sociology of art, this work examines two interrelated arguments. The first is that art can be regarded

as an image, a claim inspired by a specific ontological definition of art from Arthur Danto. Second is the claim that the

conception of art as image shall radically transform not only the aesthetic accounts of art but also the sociology thereof.
