Üniversite Paydaşlarıyla Etkileşimde Yenilikçi Bir Model: Kamusal Akıl Stüdyosu

Abstract

An Innovative Model for Interaction with University Stakeholders: Studio of Public Reasoning

Year 2025, Volume: 15 Issue: Special Issue, 59 - 70, 30.06.2025

Abstract

In order to improve the quality of complex service processes that can be defined as education, research, and community service in higher education institutions, interaction with external stakeholders is becoming increasingly important. Starting with the strategic planning process, efforts to interact with external stakeholders through surveys and other tools are becoming widespread. However, many studies indicate that the expected interaction with external stakeholders cannot be achieved for various reasons. In order to establish healthy and in-depth cooperation with external stakeholders, it is important to go beyond conventional institutional approaches in order to realise significant potential. With this in mind, an innovative model called the “studio of public reasoning” was developed in 2009, and an attempt was made to create a platform for interaction with the university’s external stakeholders through an applied course. In this article, based on the experience of the studio of public reasoning, the gains provided by innovative teaching practices in administrative disciplines in interaction with external stakeholders will be critically evaluated through interviews with students, academics, and administrators, and the possibility of establishing non-hierarchical external stakeholder relationships will be assessed.
