Prof. Dr. Selçuk SAĞIR was born in 1983 in the Palu district of Elazig. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Kovancılar. He started his undergraduate education at the Physics Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Fırat University in 2001 and graduated in 2005. He completed his master's degree at the Physics Department of the Institute of Science at the same university in 2008. He started working as a research assistant at the Physics Department of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Muş Alparslan University in 2009. He completed his PhD in High Energy and Plasma Physics at the Physics Department of the Institute of Science at Fırat University in 2013. He received the title of Assistant Professor in 2013 and Associate Professor in 2018. His nearly 100 national and international scientific studies have been cited more than 300 times. He has served as a Principal and Researcher in projects within the scope of international collaboration.
Between 2010 and 2020, he worked as a full-time faculty member at the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at Istanbul Kultur University. In 2020, he joined Digital Fabrication Laboratory (DFL) at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) as a Post Doctoral Researcher and completed Post-Doctoral Program in Architecture in 2021. Currently, he is an associate professor at ITU Department of Interior Architecture and a researcher at UPorto (FAUP+DFL/CEAU).
Sema Alaçam is an associate professor at Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, and serves as the Coordinator of the Game and Interaction Technologies Master Program. Her research focuses on computational design, digital fabrication, and AI-driven architectural approaches. She received her PhD in Architectural Design Computing from ITU and has conducted research at TU Delft, ETH Zurich, University of Oregon, and Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. She is a co-founder of arfLAB.
My research interests involve the observational analysis of molecular gas and dust in external galaxies. I aim to understand the physics of star-forming gas through the disc of galaxies using molecular line ratios along with some other emission characteristics as a proxy.
