Destinasyonların Toparlanma Stratejilerine Örnek: Horwath Hotel Travel Leisure [HTL] Covid-19 Toparlanma Yol Haritası

Abstract

2020 yılında dünyada yayılmaya başlayan Covid-19 pandemisi ekonomik sektörler üzerinde sarsıcı bir etki yaratmıştır. Turizm dünyada yaygınlaşması ve neden olduğu ekonomik gelişme ile bu pandemiden en çok etkilenen sektörlerden biridir. Bu nedenle, çalışmada destinasyonların Covid-19 salgını etkilerinden toparlanma stratejilerine örnek olarak Horwath [HTL] (2020) tarafından yayınlanan yol haritası, inceleme konusu yapılmıştır. Bu yol haritasının incelenmesinin ana nedeni önerdiği destinasyon yönetim ve pazarlama faaliyetlerinin Covid-19 salgınından etkilenen destinasyonlar açısından toparlanma için bir rehber kaynak olma potansiyelidir. Sonuç olarak toparlanma yol haritasında yer alan faaliyetler için destinasyonların yapması ve yapmaması gerekenleri belirleyebilmek, krizin atlatılması ve toparlanma stratejileri açısından önemlidir. Bu amaca temel oluşturmak için toparlanma yol haritasında belirtilen destinasyon yönetim ve pazarlama faaliyetleri irdelenmiştir. Ayrıca, Covid-19 salgını toparlanma stratejileri ile ilgili Türkiye’ye dair bir durum tespiti gerçekleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yapılan tespitler sonucunda kriz nedeniyle destinasyonun arz kısmında yer alan işletmelere devlet desteklerinin sağlanmasının önemi ve pandemi sonrasında öngörülen turizm hareketlerindeki artışa yönelik öneriler vurgulanmıştır.

An Example of Recovery Strategies of Destinations: Horwath Hotel Travel Leisure [HTL] Covid-19 Recovery Roadmap

Abstract

Covid-19 pandemic, which spread worldwide in 2020, had a devastating effect on economic sectors. With its spread in the world and its effect on economic growth, tourism is one of the most affected sectors from this pandemic. Therefore, in this study, the roadmap published by Horwath [HTL] (2020) was examined as an example of the recovery strategies of the destinations from the effects of Covid-19. The main reason for the examination of this roadmap is the possibility that the proposed destination management and marketing activities can be used as a guideline for recovery in terms of destinations affected by Covid-19. As a result, determining the do's and don'ts of the destinations for the activities included in the recovery roadmap is important in terms of overcoming the crisis and recovery strategies. The destination management and marketing activities were examined to establish a basis for this purpose. Moreover, this study tries to exert a due diligence about Turkey regarding the Covid-19 pandemic recovery strategies. The importance of providing government support to businesses in the supply part of the destination during the pandemic and the precautions against the growth in tourism after the pandemic were highlighted.
