The Effect of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria on Plant Development, Yield and Fruit Quality of Raspberry (Rubus idaeus L.) Cultivar “Heritage”
Abstract
The present study was conducted at research
field of Agriculture Faculty of Selçuk University in 2014-2015. The effects of
plant growth promoting rhizobacteria inoculated “Heritage” raspberry (Rubus idaeus
L.)
plant roots on plant growth (shoot length, sucker number, trunk diameter, leaf
area, root length, fresh and dry shoot weight, fresh and dry root weight),
yield (yield, fruit number, fruit weight) and criteria of fruit quality (pH, total
soluble solids, total acidity, ascorbic acid content and anthocyanin content)
were investigated. The best result of
cane length was obtained from 637Ca treatment (70,20cm). 637Ca treatment with
6.42 suckers and MFDCA-2 with 6.85 suckers were the best result calculated. In
terms of yield, 637Ca application with 304.65g/plant showed the best
performance. The MFDCa-2 and M3 bacteria strains has more effective than others
for fruit quality criteria. As a result, the plant growth-promoting
Rhizobacteria (PGPR) treatments could be offer an economic and beneficial means
to increased plant growth, yield and fruit quality.
