At this study in 1991 and 1992 observations and rneasurernents were rnade and yield detennined on sorne virginia and burley cultivars in order to investigate the growing possibilities of virginia and burley tobacco in the ecology of Van. At the experiment Virginia 2326, Virginia Gold 80, Virginia Gold 28, Virginia Delgold, Burley 7, Burley 2 1 and Burley bursanica cultivars were used as rnaterials and the habitus of thcse cultivars, the leaf position on the plant;
'the :properties of 'th(f leaf Stiiface{the number of days until flowerihg;1 :the flower state, the plant height, the leaf size, the diameter ratio and leaf shape, the ovalite coe:fficient, the leaf number and the yield were defined.
