Koyunculukta Yeni Üretim Teknikleri

Abstract

Mevcut koyun varlığı ile dünyanın sayılı ülkeleri arasında yer alan Türkiye, kültür ırkı ve melezlerinin düşük oranda olması ve yerli ırk koyunların verim düzeylerinin düşüklüğü nedeni ile hayvansal üretim açısından istenilen düzeyde bulunmamaktadır. Günümüzde biyoteknolojik yöntemler kullanarak hayvan ıslahını hızlandırmak ve hayvanların verim düzeylerini artırmak mümkün görülmektedir. Islah stratejilerinin verim artışlarına etkisi ve kazandırdığı hız ise seçilen yöntemler itibariyle farklılık göstermektedir. Teknolojik ve ekonomik nedenlerden dolayı geleneksel yönetmelerde ısrarlı olan gelişmekte olan ülkelerin verim özelliklerinde kaydettikleri gelişmenin ABD, Avrupa ve Okyanusya ülkelerinde kazanılan genetik ilerleme ile karşılaştırıldığında bir hayli geride kaldığı görülmektedir. Genetik ilerlemede arzu edilen standartlara en kısa sürede ulaşmak ancak biyoteknolojinin sunduğu imkânlardan faydalanarak mümkün olmaktadır. Son 10-20 yıldır hızlı bir gelişme sürecine giren biyoteknoloji hayvancılıkta yoğun bir uygulama alanı bulmuştur. Yardımcı üreme teknolojisinde (YÜT) başvurulan modern teknikler, yeni gen kaynaklarının elde edilmesi, mevcutlarının ıslahı ve koruma programları kapsamında kullanılmaktadır. Yardımcı üreme teknolojilerinin konularını kızgınlık senkronizasyonu, süperovulasyon, suni tohumlama, in vitro fertilizasyon, in vivo ve in vitro embriyo üretimi ve transferi, embriyo ve sperma dondurma, embriyo bölme, kopyalama, transgenik hayvan üretimi ile arzu edilen cinsiyette yavru üretimi oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada YÜT’ ne konu olan tekniklere değinilerek koyun yetiştiriciliğinde uygulanması ve bilimsel açıdan değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır
