Abstract

Objective : To evaluate histopathological type and age distribution of the Broad ligament tumors. Material and Method: Hematoxylin-eosin stained sections of 18 broad ligament tumors which were diagnosed in Pathology Laboratory of Zeynep Kamil Hospital, between December 1999 and September 2003 years, were reevaluated. Results: Histopathologic type and age distribution of the broad ligament tumors are seven leiomyomas, 34-65(mean age 43,2), two adenomyomas, 42-46(mean age 44), one atypical leiomyoma, 58, one leiomyosarcoma which arised inleiomyoma, 35, two intravascular leiomyomatosis, 23-42(mean age 32,5) three serous cystadenomas , 39-56(mean age 45), one liposarcoma, 22, one low-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma, 42. Conclusion: We think that it is very useful to consider and examine carefully the Broad ligament smooth muscle tumors because of their higher risk of malign transformation and intravascular proliferation than their uterin counterpart.

Broad ligament tümörleri

Abstract

Amaç.-Broad ligament tümörlerinin histolojik tip ve yaş yönünden dağılımını incelemek. Materyal ve Metod : Aralık 1999-Eylül 2003 tarihleri arasında Zeynep Kamil Hastanesi Patoloji Bölümünde tanı alan 18 adet broad ligament tümörüne ait Hematoksilen- Eozin boyalı kesitler yeniden değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Broad ligament yerleşimli 18 tümörün histolojik tip ve yaş dağılımları; yedi adet leiomyom , 34-65 (ortalama yaş 43.2); 2 adet adenomyom, 42-46 (ortalama yaş 44); l adet atipik leiomyom, 58; l adet leiomyomdan kaynaklanan leiomyosarkom, 35; 2 adet intravasküler leiomyomatozis, 23-42 (ortalama yaş 32.5); 3 adet seröz kistadenom, 39-56 (ortalama yaş 45); l adet liposarkom, 22 ve l adet "lowgrade" endometrial stromal sarkom, 42 olarak gözlendi. Sonuç: Broad ligament yerleşimli düz kas tümörlerinin malignite potansiyeli ve intravasküler proliferasyon yönünden uterusdakilere göre daha fazla risk taşıdığının hatırlanarak titizlikle irdelenmelerinin yararlı olacağını düşünüyoruz
