Does endometrium thickness predict clinical pregnancy in ICSI-ET?

Abstract

Does endometrium thickness predict clinical pregnancy in ICSI-ET? Although thickness of the endometrium is important for successful implantation and pregnancy, controversy exists on the clinical significance ofvariation in endometrial thickness observed among patients undergoing assisted reproduction. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the predictive value of endometrium thickness measured by ultrasonography in patients undergoing Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Endometrium levels were measured by ultrasonography in a total of 103 pregnant and non-pregnant patients in on the day of hCG administration. According to our results endometrial thickness do not have a predictive value to determine pregnancy in ICSI cycles.

Endometrium kalınlığı ICSI sonrası gebeliğin belirlenmesinde predikdif midir?

Abstract

Endometriyum kalınlığının gebeliğin oluşması ve implantasyon için önemli olduğu bilinmekle birlikte, infertilite nedeniyle IVF tedavisine alınan hastalarda endometriyum kalınlığının klinik önemi ile ilgili farklı görüşler bildirilmiştir. Çalışmamızda retrospektifolarak, infertilite tedavisine alınan ve ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) tedavisi uygulanan hastalarda ultrasonografi ile ölçülen endometriyum kalınlığının gebelik için prediktif değerini belirlemeyi amaçladık. Bu amaçla ICSI tedavisi sonrasında gebelik oluşan ve oluşmayan 103 hastanın hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) günü ultrasonografi ile ölçülen endometriyum seviyeleri belirlendi. Bulgularımız, endometriyum kalınlığının ICSI sonrası gebeliğin belirlenmesinde prediktif değere sahip olmadığı sonucunu ortaya çıkarmıştır.
