Endometrial Polip ile Meme Hastalıkları Arasındaki İlişki

Abstract

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Endometrial poliplerin etyolojisinde, endometrium kanseri ve meme kanserine benzer olarak östrojen maruziyeti bulunmaktadır. Çalışma; endometrial polibi olan hastaların meme hastalıkları açısından taranmasının, meme kanserinin erken tanısında katkısı olabileceğini incelemek amacıyla planlanmıştır.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Son 6 ayda jinekoloji polikliniğine başvurup endometrial örnekleme sonucu endometrial polip gelen toplam 348 hasta retrospektif olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Dosyasında meme ultasonografisi olan 151 olgu çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Menopozda olan 55 hasta, menapozda olmayan 96 hastanın demografik özellikleri ve meme ultrasonografi sonuçlarından oluşan veriler SPSS 23 programında analiz edilmiştir.
BULGULAR: Herhangi bir meme kanseri olgusuna rastlanmamıştır. Menopozdaki endometrial polip hastalarında komplike kist, kanser şüphesi ve lenfadenopati oranı menapozda olmayanlara göre daha fazla saptanmıştır (p=0,000). Ailede meme kanseri öyküsünün olmasının endometrial poliple ilişkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir (p=0,002). Yaş (p=0,109), hormon kullanımı (p=0,806), meme yakınmasının (p=0,091), endometrial polip olup olmaması ile ilişkisi görülmemiştir
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Endometrial polip ve memenin kanser şüphesi olan hastalıklarının etyolojilerindeki benzerlik nedeniyle birlikte bulunabilecekleri anlaşılmıştır. Meme hastalıkları ile endometriyal polip tespit edilen olguları prospektif olarak değerlendirecek bir çalışma ile bu durumun açıklık kazanabileceği kanaatine varılmıştır.

The Relationship Between Endometrial Polyp and Breast Pathologies

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: In the etiology of endometrial polyps, there is estrogen exposure similar to endometrial cancer and breast cancer. It was planned to examine the screening of patients with endometrial polyp for breast diseases, which may contribute to the early diagnosis of breast cancer.
METHODS: In the last 6 months, a total of 348 patients who applied to the gynecology outpatient clinic and received endometrial polyp as a result of endometrial sampling were retrospectively evaluated. 151 cases with breast ultasonography in their file were included in the study. The demographic characteristics and breast ultrasonography results of 55 patients in menopause, 96 patients who were not in menopause were analyzed in SPSS 23 program.
RESULTS: No breast cancer cases were encountered. Complicated cyst, suspicion of malignancy and lymphadenopathy rate were higher in patients with endometrial polyp in menopause than those without menopause (p = 0,000). It was determined that having a family history of breast cancer is associated with endometrial polyp (p = 0.002). The relationship between age (p = 0.109) hormone use (p = 0.806), breast complaint (p = 0.091) and endometrial polyp was not observed.
DISCUSSION and CONCLUSION: It has been understood that the endometrial polyp and breast can be found together due to similarity in the etiology of cancer suspicious diseases. It was concluded that this situation could be clarified by a study that would prospectively evaluate cases with endometrial polyp with breast diseases.
