Submandibular Sialoliths with Three Variations: A Case Series

Yıl 2023, Cilt: 2 Sayı: 2, 110 - 114, 31.08.2023

Öz

Salivary gland calculi (sialoliths) are calcified structures or stones located in the parenchyma or ductal system of the salivary glands. The submandibular gland has the highest frequency of sialolith development among the major salivary glands. Depending on where they formed, submandibular sialoliths may be found in the salivary gland's parenchyma, hilar area, or duct. In this case series, submandibular sialolith variations in three patients admitted to Akdeniz University Faculty of Dentistry are presented with panoramic, cone beam computed tomographic, and ultrasonographic images.

Üç Varyasyonuyla Submandibular Tükürük Bezi Taşları: Olgu Serisi

Yıl 2023, Cilt: 2 Sayı: 2, 110 - 114, 31.08.2023

Öz

Tükürük bezi taşları (siyalolitler), tükürük bezlerinin parankimi veya duktal sisteminde yer alan kalsifiye yapılar veya taşlardır. Majör tükürük bezleri içinde en sık siyalolit oluşumu submandibular bezde görülmektedir. Submandibular siyalolitler oluştuğu yere göre tükürük bezinin kanalında, hiler bölgesinde veya parankim dokusu içinde bulunabilir. Bu olgu serisinde Akdeniz Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’ne başvuran üç hastada mevcut submandibular siyalolit varyasyonları panoramik, konik ışınlı bilgisayarlı tomografik ve ultasonografik görüntüleri ile birlikte sunulmuştur.
