Diş Hekimliğinde Yaratıcı Bir Eğitim Uygulaması: Orienteering Oyunu ve Aktif Katılımla Terminoloji Öğrenimi

Diş Hekimliği öğrencileri lisans eğitimleri esnasında, kısa sürede ezberlemek durumunda kaldıkları birçok yeni terminolojik terim ve kavramlarla karşılaşmaktadır. Dolayısıyla, akılda tutulması zor olabilecek mesleki terminolojinin anahtar kavramlarını pekiştirmek için farklı bir eğitim yaklaşımının bulunması oldukça önem taşımaktadır. Eğitimcilerin başvurduğu yaratıcı ve katılımcı modelin mesleki terminolojiyi öğrenmeye destek olabileceği düşüncesinden yola çıkılarak, iki eğitmen fikir birliği içerisinde aktif bir öğrenme modeli uygulaması yapmıştır. Bu uygulamada iletişim dersinde öğrencilerin sanat ile yaratıcılık ve aktif katılımları desteklenmiş, ve daha sonra terminoloji dersini öğrenimlerini kolaylaştırmak öğrencilere uygulama şansı sunulmuştur. Bir grup öğrenci, terminoloji dersinin öğrenimine yönelik, İsveç asıllı ‘Orienteering Sports’ oyununu Dentorienteering adıyla terminoloji eğitimine uyarlamıştır. Bu süreç soncunda, mesleki terminoloji eğitimi pasif öğrenme alanından çıkıp, aktif katılım alanına girmiş, ve iletişimde diyalog, ekip çalışması gibi özellikler desteklendiği için eğlenceli bir tarza dönüşmüştür. Özetle bu makale, eğitimde yaratıcılık modeli kullanıldığında, Diş Hekimliği öğrencilerinin Orienteering adlı oyunu mesleki terminoloji dersine uyarlama sürecini anlatmaktadır. Bu eğitim yaklaşımı, diş hekimliği eğitiminde aktif katılımcı yöntemin kullanılması, yaratıcılığın desteklenmesi, ve mesleki terimlerin öğrenimini kolaylaştırılması açısından oldukça önem taşımaktadır. Dolayısıyla, bu modelin, terminoloji eğitimini kolaylaştırıcı özelliğinden dolayı geliştirilmesi ve medikal bilimlerde uygulanması önemle tavsiye edilmektedir.
