Öz

Tooth wear occurs as a result of destruction of tooth hard tissue caused by abrasion, attrition and erosion. This situation is considered as pathologic when treatments are necessary for esthetic or functional purposes. Pathological tooth wear can cause loss of vertical dimension of occlusion. Determining the factors of tooth wear is important for treatment solutions. However, differential diagnosis may not be possible for each case. In this case report, periodontal and prosthetic treatment of a 55-year-old male patient with severe tooth wear is described

Şiddetli Diş Aşınması Olan Bir Hastada Multidisipliner Yaklaşım

Öz

Diş aşınması, dişin sert dokusunun abrazyon, atrizyon ve erozyon gibi nedenlerle yıkımı sonucunda oluşur. Fonksiyonel ya da estetik kayıplara yol açan ve bu nedenle tedavi gerektiren aşınmalar, patolojik aşınma olarak değerlendirilir. Patolojik diş aşınması okluzyon dikey boyutu kaybına neden olabilir. Tedavi seçenekleri açısından diş aşınmalarının nedenlerini bulmak önemlidir. Ancak ayırıcı tanı her zaman mümkün olmamaktadır. Bu vaka raporunda 55 yaşında, aşırı diş aşınması olan erkek hastanın periodontal cerrahi operasyonu ile birlikte protetik tedavisi anlatılmaktadır
