Current Approaches in Gingival Retraction

Öz

Gingival displacement is still one of the big challenges in clinical practice. Although conventional displacement cord method conserves its popularity, high percentages of gingival recession, recurrent bleeding, and patient discomfort cannot be ignored. Alternatively, the newly introduced cordless displacement system may offer advantages on periodontal health, bleeding after displacement system removal, patient comfort and time spent. This article aims to inform the reader about selecting the appropriate retraction method with respect to the clinical conditions, and also aims to emphasize that the patient comfort and periodontal health are as important as gingival displacement success

Dişeti Retraksiyonunda Güncel Yaklaşımlar

Öz

Dişeti retraksiyonu klinik uygulamada karşılaşılan güçlüklerden biri olmaya devam etmektedir. Geleneksel tekniklerle retraksiyon, sıklıkla tercih edilen bir yöntem olsa da, uygulamayı takiben gözlenen dişeti çekilmesi, kanama ve hasta rahatsızlığı göz ardı edilemeyen olumsuzluklardır. Alternatif olarak, yeni geliştirilen kordsuz retraksiyon yöntemleri periodontal sağlık, kanama, hasta konforu ve klinik zaman değerlendirildiğinde avantajlar getirebilmektedir. Bu derleme klinik koşullar doğrultusunda uygun retraksiyon yöntemi seçimi ile ilgili okuyucuya bilgi vermeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra dişetini uzaklaştırmada sağlanan başarı kadar periodontal sağlığın korunmasının ve hasta konforunun sağlanmasının önemini de vurgulamaktadır
