Öz

Articulator is a mechanical instrument that represents the temporomandibular joints and jaws, to which maxillary and mandibular casts may be attached to simulate some or all mandibular movements. Precise mechanical reproduction of the intraoral condition is required for the most accurate diagnosis and fabrication of restoration. The effectiveness of an articulator depends upon the anatomy of the joints, their movements and neuromuscular system, precision and accuracy in registering the jaw relations, the sensitiveness of the instrument, and the clinician. There is considerable controversy as to which articulator is best for a particular dental restoration. Numerous articulators are available for the restoration of occlusion. The dentist is to choose an articulator that is suitable for the purpose and neither more nor less complicated than necessary

Öz

Artikülatörler çene hareketlerinin tümünü veya bir kısmını taklit etmek üzere tasarlanmış, alt ve üst modellerin bağlanabildiği, çenelerin ve temporomandibular eklemin TME temsil edilebildiği mekanik aletlerdir. En doğru teşhis ve en doğru restorasyonun yapımı için alt çene hareketlerinin artikülatör üzerinde doğru taklit edilmesi gerekmektedir. Bir artikülatörün etkinliği eklem anatomisine, eklem hareketlerine, nöromusküler sisteme, alt ve üst çene ilişki kayıtlarının doğruluğuna, kullanılan artikülatörün hassasiyetine ve klinisyene bağlıdır. Belirli restorasyonlar için hangi artikülatörün en iyisi olduğu tartışmalıdır. Oklüzyonun restorasyonu amacıyla birçok artikülatör türü kullanılmaktadır. Diş hekimlerinin kullanım amacına uygun olarak gerekli olandan ne daha fazla ne de daha az komplike olan uygun bir artikülatörü seçmesi önemlidir
