Current Approaches in the Aetiology And Treatment Of Dentin Hypersensitivity: Desensitizing Toothpastes

Yıl 2011, Cilt: 5 Sayı: 2, 859 - 865, 01.07.2011

Öz

Dentin hypersensitivity is a transient condition that often resolves with natural sclerotic obturation of dentin tubules. It is a common clinical finding that can cause considerable concern for the patient. Clinicians must understand the various etiological factors and numerous treatment options available. This review aims to evaluate the multi-factorial etiology of dentin hypersensitivity and current treatment alternatives applied either by the patient or clinician. First part of the review will focus on etiologic factors, treatment planning and desensitizing agents applied by the patient
