Treatment Approaches In Immature Teeth With Necrotic Pulp

Yıl 2011, Cilt: 5 Sayı: 1, 770 - 781, 01.04.2011

Öz

Endodontic treatment of immature teeth with necrotic pulp remains a challenge due to open apices and thin dentinal root walls. Although calcium hydroxide apexification remains the most widely used technique, apexification with MTA and Revascularization techniques have been recommended as alternative treatment options owing to disadvantages associated with traditional calcium hydroxide apexification such as long treatment time, reinfeciton and increased risk of cervical root fracture. However, prospective clinical studies comparing long term clinical succes of these alternative techniques with calcium hydoxide apexification are required
