Intraoral Implant Supported Maxillofacial Prostheses

Yıl 2010, Cilt: 3 Sayı: 4, 468 - 475, 01.01.2010

Maxillofacial defects can occur a result of trauma, infection, malign neoplasm and congenital anomalies. Prosthetic treatments are often used to restorate these defects. Conventional methods for the retention of maxillofacial prostheses are far from providing efficient retention. Osseointegrated implants, used for efficient retention, provide maximum rehabilitation of the patients. The purpose of this literature review is to give information about treatment planning of intraoral implant supported maxillofacial prostheses, implant insertion and retention systems

Maksillofasiyal defektler, travma, enfeksiyon, malign neoplazmlar, konjenital ve gelişimsel anomaliler sonucu oluşmaktadır. Bu defektlerin restorasyonunda sıklıkla protetik tedaviler kullanılmaktadır. Çene yüz protezlerinin tutuculuğunda kullanılan klasik yöntemler; etkili bir retansiyon sağlamaktan uzaktır. Etkili retansiyon için kullanılan osseointegre implantlar hastanın maksimum rehabilitasyonunda önemli katkılar sağlamaktadırlar. Bu literatür derlemesinin amacı; intraoral implant destekli maksillofasiyal protezlerde tedavi planlaması, implant yerleşimi ve retansiyon sistemleri ilgili bilgi vermektir
