With the increase of labor neuroaxial
anesthesia, the frequency of postdural puncture headache is also increasing,
which is the most common complication. Although the epidural blood patch is
accepted as the gold standard treatment, there are some situations epidural
blood patch can not be applied like patient refusal, treatment fail or
contraindications. It is a
minimal invasive method, but post-operative complications may be seen in broad spectrum like back pain and permanent neurological sequela. In this
article, alternative treatment options for epidural blood patch in postdural
puncture headacce are discussed.
