Sporda Teknoloji Kullanımı: Bir Metafor Çalışması

Öz

Teknolojinin günümüzde her alanda olduğu gibi spor faaliyetlerinin öncesinde, sırasında ve sonrasında birçok şekilde ve amaçla kullanılmasının, sporun öznesi olan sporcular tarafından nasıl değerlendirildiği merak konusu olmuştur. Bu çalışma sporcuların, spor bünyesindeki teknoloji kullanımına dair görüşlerini metaforlar aracılığıyla tespit etmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışma grubu farklı branşlarda aktif spor yapan 50 elit sporcudan oluşturulmuştur. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgu bilim deseninin kullanıldığı araştırmada veriler içerik analizi tekniği kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Katılımcıların sporda teknoloji kullanımına dair görüşlerini anlamak için “Sporda teknoloji kullanımı .... gibidir / ‘na benzer.
Çünkü ....” cümlelerini tamamlamaları istenmiştir. Sporda teknoloji kullanımına ilişkin antrenman, anne, antrenör, oksijen, ilaç, su gibi metaforlar tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen bu metaforlar “zorunluluk, fayda, rehber, adalet sağlama, tamamlayıcı olma” kavramsal kategorileri altında toplanmıştır. Bu araştırma kapsamında elde edilen metaforlar değerlendirildiğinde, elit sporcuların sporda teknoloji kullanımına dair olumlu bir tutum içerisinde olduğu ve sporcuların teknoloji kullanımını destekledikleri kanaati oluşmuştur.

Using Technology in Sport: A Metaphor Study

Öz

Technology is widely used in sports areas at considerable levels. Technology is used in different ways, for different purposes before, whilst and after a sports activity. How athletes assess the technology usage in sports activities creates curiosity. The aim of this research is to determine the thoughts of athletes' on the usage of technology in sports activities through metaphors. The sample of the study consist of 50 elite athletes who are from different branches. In research, the phenomenological method from the qualitative research approaches was used. For the analysis of data, the content analysis method was used. The athletes were asked to fill the sentence “Technology usage in sports activities is like … / look like’. Because … .” Training, mother, trainer, oxygen, medicine, water are some of the metaphors related to the usage of technology in sports activities. Metaphors were gathered under 5 different categories. The metaphors derived from the research collected categories as “necessity, benefit, guide, secure the justice, supplementary.”. Metaphors that have been derived from this research are assessed and we concluded that elite athletes are in a positive manner towards and support usage of technology in sports activities.
