Salmonella ileitis that mimicks Crohn's disease

Salmonellosis is an infectious disease of the gastrointestinal tract. The non-typhoidal serotype of Salmonella infects the terminal ileum, making diagnosis difficult due to its resemblance to Crohn's disease. Lower gastrointestinal bleeding can be attributed to Salmonella infection. In this case, we report of a patient who presented with hematochezia. The patient recovered completely following a course of ciprofloxacin treatment. This case report is presented with ultrasonographic and endoscopic images.

Crohn hastalığını taklit eden Salmonella ileti

Öz

Salmonellozis gastrointestinal sistemi tutan enfeksiyöz bir hastalıktır. Özellikle nontifoidal Salmonella terminal ileuma yerleşir ve burada enfeksiyona yol açar. Salmonella enfeksiyonuna bağlı alt gastrointestinal kanama görülebilmektedir. Biz de hematokezya ile başvuran, Crohn hastalığını taklit ederek tanıyı güçleştiren, siprofloksasin tedavisi ile tam olarak düzelen Salmonella olgumuzu ultrasonografik ve endoskopi görüntüleri ile sunuyoruz.
