Treatment of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma by endoscopic submucosal dissection; A case report

Endoscopic submucosal dissection is an effective and safe method that provides en bloc resection of mucosal and submucosal lesions. This method has been applied frequently by Japanese gastroenterologists in the last decade, and it has also been applied recently in western countries. In this paper, we report a case with a 4-cm in diameter lesion of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma that was successfully resected by endoscopic submucosal dissection

Öz

Endoskopik submukozal diseksiyon mukozal ve submukozal lezyonların en-blok çıkarılabilmesini sağlayan, etkin ve güvenli bir yöntemdir. Son 10 yıldır Japon gastroentereloglar tarafından sık uygulanan bu yöntem, son zamanlarda batı ülkelerinde de uygulanmaya başlanmıştır. Bu yazı-da endoskopik submukozal diseksiyonla başarılı olarak çıkarılan, 4 cm çapındaki özofagus skuamoz hücreli karsinom olgusunu sunuyoruz.
