Adenosquamous carcinoma of the small intestine: Case report

Primary adenosquamous carcinomas can be seen in all portions of the gastrointestinal tract, but are usually localized in the gastroesophageal junction and the anal canal. Adenosquamous carcinomas are uncommon tumors of the small intestine, containing both malignant glandular and squamous components. A patient presented to the emergency room of our hospital with a history of abdominal pain. Examinations revealed an intraabdominal tumor, and the operation material taken for histopathologic examinations led to diagnosis of adenosquamous carcinoma at the ileum. Since it is rarely seen, we discuss this case in view of the current literature.

İnce barsakta adenoskuamöz karsinom: Olgu sunumu

Öz

Gastrointestinal sistemin primer adenoskuamöz karsinomları, tüm gastrointestinal sistem boyunca gelişebilirler ancak daha çok gastroözofagial bileşke ve anal kanal girişinde görülür. İnce bağırsağın adenoskuamöz karsinomları nadir olup, adenokarsinom ve skuamöz hücreli karsinomun histolojik özelliklerini birlikte gösterir. Karın ağrısı şikayeti ile hastanemiz acil servisine başvuran olgunun yapılan tetkikleri sonrası intraabdominal tümör ön tanısı ile operasyonu yapılmış ve ileumdaki tümöral oluşumun histopatolojik incelemesinde adenoskuamöz karsinom tanısı konulmuştur. Olgu, bu lokalizasyonda ender görülmesi nedeniyle literatür bilgileri ışığında tartışıldı.
