71 years old patient with ovarian cyst torsion, presenting with ovarian teratoma

Öz

Mature cystic teratomas, commonly called dermoid cysts, are the most common benign germ cell tumors of the ovary found in premenopausal women. The majority of these are in the 17-32 age range. The diagnosis is rarely made preoperatively and the prognosis is usually poor. Tumors of 6-15 cm in size are the tumors most frequently torsioned, and this is the most frequent complication seen in teratomas. Ultrasonography and abdominal tomography are the best methods in the diagnosis of an ovarian cystic teratoma. In the treatment of ovarian cystic teratomas, laparoscopic surgery should be the preferred method. In this report, we present a 71-year- old patient with torsion of an ovarian cystic teratoma.

Öz

Yaygın olarak dermoid kistler denen matür kistik teratomlar, menapoz öncesi kadınlarda overde en yaygın olarak bulunan benign germ hücre tümörleridir. Bunların büyük çoğunluğu 17-32 yaş arasındadır. Tanı ameliyat öncesinde nadiren konur ve prognoz genellikle kötüdür. Sıklıkla torsiyone olan tümörler 6-15 cm büyüklüğündedir ve teratomalarda en sık görülen komplikasyon da budur. Over kistik teratomunun tanısında batın ultrasonografisi ve tomografisi en iyi metodlardır. Overin kistik teratomları nın tedavisinde laparoskopik cerrahi tercih edilen metod olmalı dır. Bu bildiride 71 yaşında over kistik teratomu torsiyone olan bir hastayı sunduk.
