Ekran Arkasındaki Sadakatsizlik: Kişilik, Bağlanma ve İlişki Doyumunun Çevrim İçi Aldatma Davranışı Üzerindeki Etkileri

Öz

Dijital teknolojilerin yaygınlaşmasıyla birlikte aldatma davranışları yalnızca fiziksel ve yüz yüze etkileşimlerle sınırlı kalmayıp çevrim içi ortamlara da taşınmış; bu dönüşüm, sadakatsizlik olgusunun anlaşılmasında geleneksel yaklaşımların ötesine geçilerek dijital bağlamın özgün dinamiklerine odaklanılmasını gerekli kılmıştır. Dolayısıyla şimdiki araştırmanın amacı, yetişkin bireylerde çevrim içi aldatma davranışlarının kişilik özellikleri, bağlanma stilleri ve ilişki doyumu tarafından ne ölçüde yordandığını incelemektir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını 18-49 yaş aralığında (Ort= 24.09) toplam 212 birey oluşturmaktadır. Veriler Sanal Aldatma Ölçeği, İlişki Değerlendirme Ölçeği, Yakın İlişkilerde Yaşantılar Envanteri-II ve Beş Faktör Kişilik Envanteri aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Bulgular, çevrim içi aldatma davranışının kaçınan ve kaygılı bağlanma stilleri ile pozitif yönde; sorumluluk kişilik özelliği ve ilişkiden alınan doyumla negatif yönde ilişkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Ancak regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre, bağlanma stilleri ve sorumluluk kişilik özelliği çevrim içi aldatmanın anlamlı yordayıcıları olarak öne çıkarken, ilişki doyumunun modele eklenmesi açıklanan varyansı anlamlı biçimde artırmamıştır. Bu bulgu, ilişki doyumunun çevrim içi aldatma üzerindeki etkisinin doğrudan değil, bağlanma örüntüleri aracılığıyla dolaylı olabileceğine işaret etmektedir. Kişilik özellikleri açısından yalnızca sorumluluk boyutunun anlamlı bir yordayıcı olması, çevrim içi aldatma davranışının dürtü kontrolü ve öz-denetim süreçleriyle yakından ilişkili olduğunu düşündürmektedir. Sonuç olarak, çevrim içi aldatma davranışının yalnızca ilişki doyumsuzluğuyla açıklanamayacağı; bireylerin bağlanma temelli ilişki şemaları ve kişilik yapılanmalarının bu davranışta önemli rol oynadığı görülmektedir. Bu bulgular, dijital bağlamda sadakat ihlallerinin anlaşılmasında çok boyutlu psikolojik modellerin gerekliliğine işaret etmektedir.

Behind the Screen: Personality, Attachment Styles, and Relationship Satisfaction as Predictors of Online Infidelity

Öz

With the widespread use of digital technologies, infidelity has extended beyond face-to-face interactions into online environments; this shift necessitates moving beyond traditional approaches and focusing on the unique dynamics of digital contexts to better understand the phenomenon. Therefore, the present study aimed to examine the extent to which online infidelity behaviors are predicted by personality traits, attachment styles, and relationship satisfaction in adults. The sample consisted of 212 participants aged between 18 and 49 (M= 24.09). Data were collected using the Online Infidelity Scale, Relationship Assessment Scale, Experiences in Close Relationships Inventory-II, and the Big Five Personality Inventory. The findings indicated that online infidelity was positively associated with avoidant and anxious attachment styles, and negatively associated with conscientiousness and relationship satisfaction. However, regression analyses revealed that only attachment styles and conscientiousness significantly predicted online infidelity, whereas relationship satisfaction did not contribute significantly to the model after controlling for other variables. This suggests that the effect of relationship satisfaction on online infidelity may be indirect and mediated by attachment patterns. Among personality traits, only conscientiousness emerged as a significant predictor, highlighting the role of self-control and impulse regulation in online infidelity behaviors. Overall, the results suggest that online infidelity cannot be explained solely by relationship dissatisfaction; rather, it is closely related to individuals’ attachment-based relational schemas and personality structure. These findings underscore the importance of adopting multidimensional psychological frameworks to better understand infidelity in digital contexts.
