Improving Self-Care Skills in Preschool Children with Educational Wooden Toys

Öz

Essentially, the preschool period, which is a differentiated process covering childhood between the ages of 0-6 (0-72 months) on the basis of psychosexual development stages, is extremely important in child development with its unique developmental indicators in the context of developmental areas that are inseparable with the first learning and discovery acquisitions. A child in this period, who plays a wide range of games with toys, is expected to have various abilities and experiences at a certain level. Self-care skills, which are the competence to internalize and maintain a behavioral pattern that is part of the normality of life through repeated trials, are one of these skills and emerge with the development of self-confidence in the child, which manifests itself on account of self-esteem supported by other developmental areas. Preparing by learning with toys has an important effect on the development of self-care skills. In this context, educational wooden toys, which are categorized and presented with the wooden toy categorization, support the development of self-care skills in child with the drive to focus on self-confidence and success, integrated with internalizations towards self-perception through self-awareness.

Okul Öncesi Dönem Çocuklarında Eğitici Ahşap Oyuncaklar ile Özbakım Becerisinin Geliştirilmesi

Öz

Esasen, psikoseksüel gelişim evreleri zemininde 0-6 yaş (0-72 ay) arasındaki çocukluğu kapsayan ayrımsanmış bir süreç olan okul öncesi dönem, ilk kez öğrenme ve keşfetme edinimleriyle ayrılmaz bir bütünlük halinde bulunan gelişim alanları bağlamında kendine özgü gelişimsel göstergeleriyle çocuk gelişiminde son derece önemlidir. Oyuncaklar eşliğinde geniş bir yelpazede oyunlar oynayan bu dönemdeki bir çocuğun çeşitli kabiliyetlere ve deneyimlere belli bir düzeyde sahip olması beklenir. Hayatın olağanlığında yer alan bir davranış biçiminin tekrarlı denemelerle özümsenerek sürdürülebilmesi yetkinliği olan özbakım becerisi bunlardan biridir ve çocukta diğer gelişim alanlarıyla desteklenen benlik saygısı altlığında kendini gösteren özgüven gelişimiyle ortaya çıkar. Özbakım becerisinin kanıksanıp gelişmesinde oyuncaklarla öğrenerek ön hazırlık yapmanın önemli bir etkisi vardır. Bu çerçevede, ahşap oyuncak kategorizasyonu ile kategorize edilerek sunulan eğitici ahşap oyuncaklar, çocukta kendini fark etmek suretiyle kendilik algısına yönelik içselleştirmelerle bütünleşen kendine güven duyma ve başarıya odaklanma dürtüsüyle özbakım becerisinin gelişmesini destekler.
