Hüseyin Nihal Atsız an author, poet, intellectual and historian who witnessed chaotic environment and different thoughts of intelligentsia to save the current situation during the establishment phase of Turkish Republic, was a leading person in the environment he grew up. In his books, he endeavored to raise national historical awareness to readers by criticizing the imperfect sides of the mentality of that period. This author attracted notice by thesis novels and also by historical novels. The author’s Ruh Adam novel differs from his other novels by its fantastic fiction that is shaped by the Uyghur fairy tale. The fantastic fiction was established at the core of the concepts of soul and time. Some of the arguments that belong to the philosophy of 20th-century philosopher, Henri Bergson who considers psychological moods of the person can explain these attributes that feed the fiction of the novel. Bergson takes a stand against the positivist, materialist and mechanistic mentality of the period. The concept of time of Bergson implies the flow and psychological time of the inner life of the person; this pointing shows that soul of Selim Pusat, who is the main character of Ruh Adam novel goes beyond the time and place. Being made sense of life by Bergson as continuous creating corresponds to the continued existence in the issue of reincarnation that provides the dynamic formation of the novel. Thus, the following issues will be discussed; the psychic reality of Pusat and continuity of memory beyond time and place. Revealing the continuity of national memory in the person of Selim Pusat and the relationship between past and the memory will be scrutinized within the context of carrying the collective soul. Being organized soul and time items in the components of the novel will be analyzed by paying sufficient attention for the intellectual side of Atsız and also by moving the ambivalent situation between own reality of Selim Pusat and external reality to the center.
