ORDO-liberalizm Freiburg Okulu Mont Pelerin Cemiyeti Chicago Ekolü Şili
Within the scope of the search for the anti-liberal climate created by the 1929 crisis, a group of German economists who call themselves neoliberal, have put forward ideas that have a moderate content compared to classical liberalism and centered the idea of the need for the functions of the state on the market. The ideas of German economists, mostly gathered under the umbrella of the Freiburg School and many of which appeared in the ORDO magazine, became the founder of the German Economic Miracle after the Second World War. In this context, neoliberalism, until the early 1970s, had a theoretical and political meaning related to the German public and economic policies of the period, which is now known as the "social market economy". There has been a significant transformation and shift in meaning in the concept of neoliberalism in Chile, where the reforms carried out by the US-backed military coup administration that is inspired by the German economic growth after 1973. Neoliberalism, in Latin America, has moved away from the meanings in Germany, and gained a meaning that includes superior constructive qualities to the market and almost completely against state interventions. After this period, the association of the concept of neoliberalism with Germany in Latin America came to an end. Modern neoliberalism thus bears more resemblance to the ideas and theories of the Chicago School, as it is first implemented in Latin America in the 1970s. However, some studies base the foundations of modern neoliberalism on German neoliberalism. The aim of this study is to reveal that modern neoliberalism is based on the ideas of the Chicago School, where there were names who criticized German neoliberalism in the meetings of the Mont Pelerin Society, and that modern neoliberalism is indeed two counter ideology competing with German neoliberalism.
