Jacques Derrida, Richard Rorty and truth
Öz
Many thinkers such as Nietzsche, Husserl and Heidegger made evaluations concerning truth. In
this study, Jacques Derrida’s and Richard Rorty's, who challenges previous thinkers, views
which are related with truth are examined. Derrida, who questions concepts such as presence,
truth and reality, does not propose a new method or does not offer a solution or advice. Rorty’s
studies has differences concerning this, because he suggests that there can be a solution that can
occur with solidarity. Nevertheless his thoughts about language and his studies that questions
truth, gets him closer to Derrida. Apart from this, concepts such as contingency and irony which
are used by Rorty, have similarities with Derrida’s ideas. In this study, Derrida’s and Rorty’s
ideas regarding other thinkers, concepts that they highlight within their own studies and
intersections of this two thinkers ideas are discussed.

Öz
Nietzsche, Husserl ve Heidegger gibi pek çok düşünür doğruluğa ilişkin değerlendirmelerde bulunmuştur. Bu çalışma kapsamında doğruluğa ilişkin görüşleriyle, kendilerinden önceki düşünürlere meydan okuyan Jacques Derrida’nın ve Richard Rorty’nin görüşleri değerlendirilmiştir. Mevcudiyet, doğruluk ve hakikat gibi kavramları sorgulayan Derrida, yeni bir yöntem önermez ya da bir çözüm önerisi sunmaz. Rorty bu noktada Derrida’dan uzaklaşır; çünkü Rorty dayanışma ile bir çözümün olabileceğinden söz eder. Ancak Rorty’nin dile ilişkin görüşleri ve doğruluğu sorguladığı çalışmaları kendisini Derrida’ya yakınlaştırmıştır. Ayrıca Rorty’nin kullandığı olumsallık ve ironi gibi kavramlar da Derrida’nın görüşleriyle benzerlik taşır. Bu çalışmada Derrida ve Rorty’nin diğer düşünürlerin düşüncelerine yönelik görüşleri, kendi çalışmalarında vurguladıkları kavramlar ve iki düşünürün düşüncelerindeki kesişmeler incelenmiştir.
