WEB TV AS A VIRTUAL FORM OF CONVENTIONAL TELEVISION AND TV ADMINISTRATION IN THE “LIVESTREAM” PORTAL

Öz

Internet Television Broadcasting which is gaining popularity with its speed and streaming technologies has brought up various concepts such as Web TV and IPTV applications. These two new concepts which stem from the virtual model of conventional television have many similarities and notable differences between them. Except for professional broadcasters, portals such as Livestream enable everyone to set up and to run a web TV. Therefore almost turning the web TV into a simulation game while enabling the use of the web TV as an alternate source of broadcasting. The objective of this study is to analyse the web TV from both technical and social points of view, to note the differences with IPTV; and to demonstrate the virtual studio administration methods provided by Livestream.com

GELENEKSEL TELEVİZYONUN SANAL MODELİ OLARAK WEB TV VE LIVESTREAM PORTALINDA TV YÖNETİMİ

Öz

Hızlı internet ve “streaming” teknolojisiyle günlük yaşama giren internet televizyon yayıncılığı ortaya Web TV ve IPTV kavramlarını çıkartmıştır. Aralarında benzerlikler yanında belirgin farklar da bulunan bu iki yeni nesil televizyon, geleneksel televizyonun sanal modelinden yola çıkmaktadır. Profesyonel yayıncılar dışında Livestream gibi portalların herkese Web TV kurma ve yönetme şansı vermesi Web TV’nin hem bir simülasyon oyununa benzemesini, hem de önemli bir alternatif yayıncılık örneği oluşturmasını sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışma, Web TV’yi teknik ve sosyal açıdan genel olarak ele alırken; IPTV ile arasındaki farkları değerlendirmeyi; Livestream.com’un Web TV kurulumu ve yayını için sunduğu sanal reji sisteminin kullanım yöntemlerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır
