Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Bölümlerine Yönelik Algıları ve Eğitim Memnuniyetlerinin Kariyer Niyetleri Üzerine Etkisi

Öz

Son yıllarda birçok üniversite mezununun, öğrenim gördükleri alanlardan farklı iş kollarında kariyerlerine devam ettikleri görülmektedir. Bu durum, meslek sahibi olma amacıyla yükseköğretim programlarını tercih eden öğrencilerin, eğitim almalarına rağmen neden farklı alanlara yöneldikleri sorusunu gündeme getirmektedir. Bu bağlamda gerçekleştirilen araştırmanın temel amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin muhasebe mesleğine yönelik algılarının kariyer niyetleri üzerindeki etkisini incelemek ve bu etkide üniversite eğitimi memnuniyetleri ile derslere katılım düzeylerinin aracılık rolünü ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma nicel yöntemle tasarlanmış olup, veri toplama aracı olarak anket tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Anket formu, Türkiye’de muhasebe ve ilgili bölümlerde önlisans düzeyinde aktif olarak örgün eğitim gören 399 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, öğrencilerin muhasebe mesleğine ilişkin algılarının kariyer niyetleri üzerinde anlamlı bir etkisi olduğunu; bu etkinin eğitim memnuniyetleri ve derslere katılım düzeyleri aracılığıyla güçlendiğini göstermiştir. Özellikle öğrencilerin muhasebe mesleğine dair olumlu algılarının, aldıkları eğitimden memnuniyetleri ile birlikte değerlendirildiğinde, kariyer niyetlerini artırıcı yönde etkide bulunduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The Effect of University Students' Perceptions of Their Departments and Educational Satisfaction on Their Career Intentions

Öz

In recent years, many university graduates have pursued careers in fields outside their areas of study. This situation raises the question of why students who choose higher education programs to acquire a profession tend to shift to different fields despite having received formal training. The primary objective of this study is to investigate the impact of university students’ perceptions of the accounting profession on their career intentions, and to determine the mediating roles of their satisfaction with university education and their level of course participation in this relationship. The research was designed using a quantitative method, and data were collected through a survey technique. The questionnaire was administered to 399 students actively enrolled in associate degree programs in accounting and related fields in Türkiye. The findings reveal that students’ perceptions of the accounting profession have a significant impact on their career intentions, and this effect is mediated by their satisfaction with the education they receive and their level of participation in courses. In particular, it was determined that when students’ perceptions of the accounting profession are evaluated together with their satisfaction with their education, they have a more substantial positive effect on increasing career intentions.
