Our thoughts shape our words, and our words shape our actions. Sometimes what we see is the source of what we do, sometimes what we hear… In fact, everything changes as soon as we realize it. We learn to walk, talk, play games, read books, in short, how to behave. Our character is formed. Our conceptual world expands. We make sense of what we learn. Good quality children's books have a great role in helping children make sense of what they have learned, acquire reading habits, use their mother tongue correctly, and become aware of the values accepted by the society. For this reason, it is necessary to examine and evaluate children's books in terms of value, character and message relationship. Today, many studies have been carried out on the values in children's books. In this study, the first reading books of Göknil Özkök; value, character and message relation. Value, character and message cannot be considered separately from each other in children's literature reading books. Because, consciously or not, the author shapes the values he wants to give to the child reader on the character. In other words, the values that are abstract become concrete with the character. The journey of the character in the book also takes the reader to the message. In the reviewed books of Göknil Özkök; friendship, love, struggle, courage, greeting, cooperation, leadership, cooperation, respect, gratitude, joy of life, compassion, belonging, appreciation and hope. These values are directly or indirectly related to the characters and messages in Özkök's books. In Özkök's books reviewed, "belongingness, being able to hope" are the most prominent values, while "being pushed out (disappeared)" stands out as the opposite value. This situation is not accidental. People are happy where they feel they belong, they are hopeful. Otherwise, they feel excluded.
