Judith Butler’ın “Performativite” Kavramı İlişiğinde Buket Uzuner’in İki Yeşil Susamuru Romanına Eleştirel Bir Bakış

Öz

Bu incelemede, feminist-queer düşünür ve yazar Judith Butler’ın ortaya attığı performativite kavramı üzerinden Çağdaş Türk edebiyatının geleneksel roman yapısını altüst eden ve disiplinlerarası etkileşimler kuran Buket Uzuner’in İki Yeşil Susamuru romanı eleştirel bir yaklaşıma tabi tutulacaktır. Toplumsal cinsiyetin biyolojik olmaktan ziyade kültürel bir inşa sonucu oluşum gösterdiğini söyleyen Butler’ın düşünceleri, incelemesi yapılacak romanın belirli bir kısmında yer alan ancak romanın genelinde hâkimiyet kuran toplumsal cinsiyet normları çerçevesinde incelenecektir. Toplumsal cinsiyet meselesine değinilerek romanın belirli bir kısmında yapılacak alt metin okumasıyla tartışmalara bir referans sunması amaçlanan incelemenin, süregelen çalışmalara ışık tutması açısından yardımcı kaynak hâline gelmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu inceleme kapsamında roman, kadın bedenine yönelik normatif söylemlerin nasıl altüst edildiğini, öznenin toplumsal beklentiler karşısında nasıl şekillendiğini ve bireyin benliğini yeniden kurma sürecinde edebiyatın nasıl bir direniş aracı hâline geldiğini tartışmaya açarak eleştirel bir okuma sunmaktadır.

A Critical Look At Buket Uzuner's İki Yeşil Susamuru Novels in Relation To Judith Butler's Theory Of “Performativity”

Öz

In this analysis, Buket Uzuner's novel İki Yeşil Susamuru, which subverts the traditional novel structure of Contemporary Turkish Literature and establishes interdisciplinary interactions through the concept of performativity put forward by feminist-queer thinker and writer Judith Butler, will be subjected to a critical approach. The ideas of Butler, who says that gender is a cultural construction rather than a biological one, will be analyzed within the framework of gender norms that take place in a certain part of the novel to be analyzed but dominate the novel in general. It is aimed that the review, which aims to provide a reference to the existing discussions through a subtextual reading of a certain part of the novel by addressing the issue of gender in depth, will become an auxiliary source in terms of shedding light on ongoing studies. Within the scope of this review, the novel offers an in depth reading of the novel by discussing how normative discourses on the female body are subverted, how the subject is shaped in the face of social expectations, and how literature becomes a means of resistance in the process of reconstructing the individual's self. Thus, Uzuner's novel offers an important critical reading in terms of both literature and the concept of performativity.
