EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF COOLING – HEATING PERFORMANCES OF AIR, OXYGEN, CARBON DIOXIDE AND MIX GASES WHICH ARE USED AS THE VORTEX TUBE
Abstract
In this study, the vortex tube, having no one moving part, except the control valve was used in order to arrange volumetric flows. In the experimental studies, the control valve on the outlet side of the hot fluid was open position. In the executed experimental study, , Air, oxygen, carbon dioxide and mix gases as pressured fluid were used. Air, oxygen, carbon dioxide and mix gases were applided to vortex tupe for inlet pressure from 2.0 bar to 7.0 bar in 1.0 bar intervals. In this study, energy–separation case which occurs in the vortex tubes was investigated experimentally for four different fluids and the thermodynamic investigations studied. At the end of the experiments, the graphics on Air, oxygen, carbon dioxide and mix gases were established. The graphics on Air, oxygen, carbon dioxide and mix gases in vortex tube were interpreted by inspecting them, and there were suggestions on increasing their performances.
