TÜRKİYE'DE ELEKTRİK TÜKETİMİ ÇEŞİTLERİ VE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİNİN EKONOMETRİK BİR ANALİZİ

Öz

Enerji ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki araştırmacıların ve politika yapıcıların ilgisini her geçen gün daha fazla çekmektedir. Bu iki değişken arasındaki ilişki enerji politikalarının oluşturulması sürecinde oldukça önemlidir. Bu makalede, Türkiye'de 1975-2005 dönemine ilişkin toplam elektrik tüketimi, sanayi elektrik tüketimi ve mesken elektrik tüketimi ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki zaman serileri analizindeki gelişmeler dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre, toplam, sanayi ve mesken elektrik tüketimleri ile ekonomik bürüme arasındaki uzun dönemli ilişkilerin varlığı Johansen eşbütünleşme testi ile belirlenmiş ve Vektör Hata Düzeltme Mekanizması (VECM) yardımıyla nedenselliğin yönünün elektrik tüketimlerinden ekonomik büyümeye doğru olduğu görülmüştür. Ayrıca mesken elektrik tüketimi ile ekonomik büyüme arasında ise, çift yönlü bir nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilmiştir.
