Direct Debiting System in Turkey as an Outsourcing Tool
Abstract
Nowadays more and more
organizations lean to outsourcing by transferring their non-core business
activities to specialized ones. Thereby, outsourcing takes place in plenty of
activities, including the payment collection operations. In this study; Direct Debiting
System (DDS), a kind of payment collection method, is analyzed from an
outsourcing perspective. The purpose of this study is to explain DDS and to
underline the advantages and risks of the system in Turkey. Accordingly, a
literature review is made, web-sites of banks that provide DDS are examined and
personal interviewing technique was employed with three bank employees. As a
result, it is stated that DDS can be considered as an outsourcing tool.
Additionally, expectations and suggestions about DDS are presented.
