Teachers' and Parental Views on Personality Characteristics of Successful and Failing Students

By making a questionnaire, a research has been made the 80 students who have education in the second step the primary school on 39 teachers and on the students parents about the students personal characteristics. This research aims to find out the personal characteristics of the succesful students and the less successful ones and how many of these characteristics are known by their parents and teachers. In Afyon all the primary school teachers, all the students and their parents take part in this research. When we look at the opinion of the teachers about successful students, it’s seen that they perceive them extraversion and in dimension of sensory, thought and judge. Less successful ones are perceived extraversion in the dimension of thought, feeling and judge. But in the evaluation the less successful students parents are more irresolute then the teachers. When the opinions of teachers and the parents about the successful and the less successful students of the primary schools second step are compared, it’s seen that the teachers are more objective than the parents. Meaningful differences are seen according to the teachers branches, science, English, Math teachers bring up more realistic and consistn’t attitude than the Social Studies and Turkish teachers. When the opinions of successful and less successful parents are compared, it’s seen successful students parents are more objective than the less successful students parents
