Öz

In this article, westernization of Russian education tried to evaluate within its outlines. In the history it is more important to archive normal development instead of miracles. It is told that every modern development start with Peter the Great in Russia. When we analyze with all aspect it is clear that Peter the Great was an important person in westernization of Russia but not everything. Before Peter the Great there were many important relationships between West and Russia and background for westernization took shape in Russia. In the Age of Peter the Great and other Empresses Period (18th century) Russia started to integrate and unite with Europe. Westernization in all areas was started. This movement continued during the 19th century and every positive and negative development in Europe echoed in Russia at the same time. Russia has become a world state in the 18th century, and as a world state it had a leading role in science, art and industrialization in the 19th century. But in the beginning of 20th century with the October revolution Russia came in an opposite position with Europe, after the World War II separating from West became clear. In spite of centuries past, tight and friendly relationship within Russia and Europe from the time of Peter the Great cannot be built. In this article westernization of Russian education is examined in the eighteenth, nineteenht and twentieht centuries and important periods are described in subdivisions. 20th century is examined as Tsarist period, Soviet period and After Soviet period.
