Views of Science Student Teachers about the Use of Educational Technologies in Science and Technology Course

Abstract

This study aims to find out the views of science student teachers about the use of educational technologies in science and technology courses. Fifty-three science student teachers in the 3rd and 4th grade science education department at Dokuz Eylul University participated in this research. In this study, as a data collecting tool, a questionnaire consisting of ten questions, four closed-ended and six open-ended questions, aimed at reveling the views of science student teachers about educational technologies in science and technology courses, was developed. In the data gathered from this study, descriptive and content analysis were used. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the science student teachers had positive views about the use of educational technologies in science and technology courses. In addition, according to the results from this research, it was found out that most science student teachers saw themselves as partially adequate in using these educational technologies in their teaching environments and thought that the classroom environments in Turkey have not enough equipment for the use of educational technologies

Öğretmen Adaylarının Fen Ve Teknoloji Dersinde Eğitim Teknolojilerinin Kullanılmasına İlişkin Görüşleri

Öz

Bu araştırmada fen öğretmen adaylarının fen ve teknoloji dersinde eğitim teknolojilerinin kullanılmasına ilişkin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Bölümünde 3. ve 4. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan 53 öğretmen adayı katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının fen ve teknoloji dersinde eğitim teknolojilerinin kullanılmasına ilişkin görüşlerini belirmeye yönelik olarak hazırlanan dört tanesi kapalı uçlu, altı tanesi ise açık uçlu olmak üzere on sorudan oluşan bir anket kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizinde içerik analizi ve betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin analizi sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının fen ve teknoloji dersinde eğitim teknolojilerinin kullanılmasına ilişkin olumlu görüşlere sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda öğretmen adaylarının büyük bir çoğunluğunun eğitim teknolojilerinin öğrenme ortamında kullanılmasına ilişkin olarak kendilerini kısmen yeterli gördükleri ve Türkiye’deki okul ortamlarının eğitim teknolojilerinin kullanılması konusunda yeterli donanıma sahip olmadığını düşündükleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
