Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim fen bilimleri dersinde, “Maddenin Tanecikli Yapısı” ünitesi, araştırmaya dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımına göre geliştirilen etkinlik setinin, 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin fen öğrenme yeterliği üzerine etkisini tespit etmektir. Araştırma, bir ilköğretim okulunda iki altıncı sınıf, toplam 42 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel bölümünde, ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgular, araştırmaya dayalı öğrenme yaklaşımına uygun hazırlanan rehber etkinlikleri ile desteklenen fen bilimleri derslerinin, öğrencilerin fen öğrenme yeterliği üzerinde anlamlı etkisi olmadığı belirlenmiş, ancak bazı fen öğrenme yeterliği alt boyutları açısından anlamlı etkisi olduğu görülmüştür.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of an activity set developed according to the inquiry-based learning approach in the unit “Particulate Structure of Matter” on students’ competence for learnıng science. The study was conducted with 42 sixth grade students attending two sixth grade classes of a secondary school. In this study, pre-test and posttest control group experimental designs were used. The findings of the study revealed that science and technology learning supported with the guided activities developed in line with the inquiry-based learning approach have no significant effects on students’ competence for learning science, but have significant effects some competence scale for learning science sub-dimension.
