Yoksulluğa Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği-Kısa Formu Türkçe Uyarlaması: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Çalışması

The aim of the research is to adapt the Attitudes Toward Poverty (ATP) Short Form into Turkish and to examine the evidence proves its validity and reliability. The lack of adequate number of such measurement tools in the Turkish literature is one of the primary reasons for conducting this research. In this context, there is an increasing need for a valid and reliable instrument to measure individuals’ attitudes toward poverty. This scale, which includes twenty-one items, was translated into Turkish and back translated into English. A meticulous review was carried out during the translation process to ensure conceptual equivalence. The scale, which was examined by 11 students and 2 experts, was applied to 313 university students aged 17-41 years. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) conducted with the data obtained, some modifications were made by considering the modification indices. After the modifications made, it was concluded that the Turkish form of the scale has a structure that overlaps with the original form. To test the divergent validity of the scale, its relationship with the Social Justice Scale and the Interpersonal Mindfulness Scale was examined. The significant negative correlations of the scale with both scales provided evidence for the divergent validity of the scale. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients calculated because of the analyses performed to measure the reliability level of ATP scale were found to be sufficient (between .64 - .80). As a result, it is seen that the Turkish version of the ATP Scale Short Form has satisfactory psychometric properties and can be used to determine the negative attitude towards poverty in Turkey.

Araştırmanın amacı, Yoksulluğa Yönelik Tutum (YYT) Ölçeği Kısa Formunun Türkçe uyarlamasını yapmak, geçerlik ve güvenirliğini gösteren kanıtları incelemektir. Türk literatüründe bu türde ölçme araçlarının yeterli sayıda olmaması bu çalışmanın yapılmasının temel sebeplerinden bir tanesidir. Bu bağlamda, bireylerin yoksulluğa ilişkin tutumlarını ölçmede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir araca duyulan ihtiyaç giderek artmaktadır. Yirmi bir madde içeren bu ölçek Türkçe’ye çevrilmiş ve İngilizceye geri çevirisi yapılmıştır. Çeviri sürecinde kavramsal eşdeğerliliği sağlamak amacıyla titiz bir kontrol gerçekleştirilmiştir. 11 öğrenci ve 2 uzman tarafından incelenerek son haline getirilen ölçek yaşları 17-41 yaş aralığındaki üniversite öğrencilerinden oluşan 313 kişiye uygulanmıştır. Katılımcılardan elde edilen veriyle yapılan doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA) sonuçlarına göre modifikasyon indeksleri dikkate alınarak birtakım değişiklikler yapılmıştır. Yapılan düzenlemeler sonrasında ölçeğin Türkçe formunun orijinal formu ile örtüşen bir yapıya sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ölçeğin ayrılma geçerliğimi test etmek amacıyla Sosyal Adalet Tutumu (SAT) Ölçeği ve Kişilerarası Bilinçli Farkındalık (KBF) Ölçeği ile ilişkisi incelenmiş, her iki ölçekle de beklenen şekilde anlamlı ve ters yönlü bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Ölçeğin güvenirlik düzeyini ölçmek için yapılan analizler sonucunda elde edilen Cronbach alfa katsayıları yeterli (.64 - .80 aralığında) bulunmuştur. Oluşturulan Sonuç olarak, YYT Ölçeği Kısa Formunun Türkçe’ye uyarlanan formunun kabul edilebilir psikometrik değerlere sahip olduğu ve Türkiye’de yoksulluğa yönelik negatif tutumunun tespit edilmesinde kullanılabileceği görülmektedir.
