The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating effect of psychological needs satisfaction in the relationship between secure/insecure attachment styles and causality orientations. Data of the study was collected in two ways. Data was collected by Googleforms and questionnaire from the students of Işık University Psychology Department. Two hundred and three adults participated in this study. The questionnaire includes a Sociodemographic Form, Relationships Scales Questionnaire, The Basic Psychological Needs Scale and The General Causality Orientations Scale. Descriptive Analysis, Pearson correlation, simple and multiple regression statistical methods were conducted. According to the study, the relationship between secure attachment style and impersonal orientation was fully mediated by psychological needs satisfaction which are autonomy, competence and relatedness. And the relationship between insecure attachment style and impersonal orientation was partially mediated by psychological needs satisfaction which are autonomy and competence. Psychological needs satisfaction are seemed to be more basic in determining causal orientations than secure and insecure attachment styles. Therefore, it seems that arranging the social context of the person in a way satisfying basic psychological needs may be related to important and positive results in various areas of individual’s life.
