The Origins and Features of the Aesthetic of the Risale-i Nur’s Scholarly Content
Dr. Muhammed al-Ruki The Risale-i Nur talks at length about light’s (Nur) meanings: for the Risales are an independent school which has strong foundations, clear markers, and educational methods that are comprehensible. These works carry an instruc-tional, educational, and functional message which exists to convey Islamic concepts to the mind and heart, and inform the soul and conscience of The Quran’s purpose. The roots of the Risale-i Nur’s aesthetic beauty spring from its rich scholarly content, which rely on many roots and dynamics – that took their strength and brilliance from the Quran and the noble traditions of the Prophet which the Ustad knew on an extensive level. Thus, the Risale-i Nur is a valuable inter-pretation of the Quran, and a bright flash that has its source in the holy text. Each page of the Risale-i Nur is peppered with aesthetic markers. These markers are manifested in the Risale’s expansive formation, diverse provisions, and meaningful lessons, and are neither purely philosophical nor purely theoretical. On the contrary, they show their effect on the nafs and are truths that attract the nafs to themselves. These markers also refine the presentation, depiction, management, and analysis of various subjects within the text. The text provides its reader with information that has realistic and practical features, and takes all of these beautiful features from the beauty of the Quran, the exaltedness of faith (iman), and the brilliance of righteousness.


تفيض رسائل النور بمعاني النور إذ هي مدرسة قائمة بذاتها، لها أسسها المحكمة،
ومعالمها الواضحة، ومنهاجها التربوي بين، تحمل رسالة لأبناء الإسلام، فهي أعمال

رسالية توجيهية تربوية وظيفية، القصد منها إيصال المضامين الإسلامية حية إلى العقل
والقلب، وتوجيه المقاصد والأسرار القرآنية إلى النفس والوجدان والشعور.
إن أصول جمالية رسائل النور نابعة من جودة مضمونها العلمي، وجودة مضمونها
العلمي قائمة على أصول كثيرة كان الأستاذ النورسي راسخا فيها، مشبعا بمادتها وهي:
القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية الشريفة، حيث تستمد قوتها وتقتبس أنوارها منهما،
فرسائل النور تفسير قيم للقرآن ولمعة براقة له ورشحة من رشحاته. وأما ملامح
جمالية رسائل النور فهي راسخة ومنثورة ومبثوتة في كل صفحاتها وتتجلى في كون
صياغتها جامعة وأحكامها عديدة وحكمها بالغة.
وأنها ليست فلسفية محضة، ولا نظرية صرفة، وأنها مؤثرة تترك الأثر في النفس
وتجذبها إليها بقوة، كما تتميز بالدقة في التصوير والعرض والتناول والتحليل
والاستنتاج وهي شاملة في العطاء، متنوعة المعارف، مختلفة الفوائد تمتاز بالواقعية
والعملية، كل هذا قد اكتسبته من جمال القرآن وبهاء الإيمان ورونق الهدى. وهذا
يؤكد كونها مؤسسة على الرسالية والنورية.
