Öz

Objective: Improving factors affecting and increasing job satisfaction of dietitians may contribute to improving nutritional and health status of individuals/society. To examine thoughts of dietitians about factors regarding individual nutrition counseling, job satisfaction level and effective factors.
Method: This descriptive study was conducted with dietitians (n=183) working in İzmir. Questionnaire form and Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) were used. Chi-square, independent samples t test, one-way ANOVA, tukey test, linear regression analysis (enter model) were used, p<0.05 was set statistically significant.
Results: Mean age was 31.9±8.84 years, 89.1% were female. 34.4% worked in public sector, 38.8% in private sector, 26.8% were business owners. JSS score was 127.72±34.47; job satisfaction was low. Mean job satisfaction score of dietitians with MSc degree, working in private sector and clinical field, who found income sufficient, who recommended profession to others were higher (p<0.05). JSS decreased as working sector moved from private to public and public to owner. Dietitians thought that social media affected nutrition counseling, partially guided people about nutrition, they did not find it right providing nutrition information in mass-media, did not think nutrition counseling given on internet sufficiently. The most effective factors in patient motivation according to dietitians were facial expression, body language, decisive attitude, setting realistic goals, appearance, self-confidence of dietitians.
Conclusion: Nutritional counseling and job satisfaction data may guide professional organizations and education planners. More quantitative studies supported by qualitative data and studies focusing on factors increasing job satisfaction are needed to examine factors affecting job satisfaction in depth.

Diyetisyenlerin Bireysel Beslenme Danışmanlığını Etkileyen Etmenler Hakkındaki Düşünceleri ve İş Doyumu

Öz

Amaç: Diyetisyenlerin iş doyumunu etkileyen faktörlerin iyileştirilmesi, iş doyumunun yükseltilmesi, bireylerin/toplumun beslenme ve sağlık durumunun iyileştirilmesine katkıda bulunabilir. İzmir’de çalışan diyetisyenlerin bireysel beslenme danışmanlığı ile ilişkili faktörler hakkındaki düşüncelerinin incelenmesi, iş doyumu ile iş doyumunu etkileyen faktörlerin saptanması amaçlanmıştır.
Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu araştırma, İzmir’de çalışan diyetisyenlerle (n=183) yürütülmüştür. Verilerin elde edilmesinde literatür taramasıyla oluşturulan anket formu ve İş Doyumu Ölçeği (Job Satisfaction Survey-JSS) kullanılmıştır. Ki-kare, bağımsız gruplarda t testi, one-way ANOVA, tukey testi, lineer regresyon analizi (enter modeli) kullanılmış, p<0.05 istatistiksel olarak önemli kabul edilmiştir.
Bulgular: Diyetisyenlerin yaş ortalaması 31.9±8.84 yıl olup, %89.1’i kadındır. Diyetisyenlerin %34.4’ü kamuda, %38.8’i özel sektörde, %26.8’i kendi iş yerinde çalışmaktadır. Diyetisyenlerin JSS puanı 127.72±34.47 olup, iş doyumu düşüktür. Yüksek lisans mezunlarının, özel sektörde ve klinik alanda çalışanların, gelirini yeterli bulan, mesleğini çevresine öneren diyetisyenlerin ortalama iş doyumu puanı daha yüksektir (p<0.05). Lineer regresyon analizine göre diyetisyenlerin çalışma sektörü; özelden kamuya, kamudan iş yeri sahibine doğru ilerledikçe iş doyumu azalmaktadır. Diyetisyenler beslenme danışmanlığında sosyal medyanın etkili olduğunu, sosyal medyanın insanları beslenme açısından kısmen doğru yönlendirdiğini düşünmekte, medyada beslenme bilgisi verilmesini doğru bulmamakta, internet üzerinden verilen beslenme danışmanlığını yeterli bulmamaktadır. Diyetisyenlere göre danışan motivasyonunda en önemli etmenler; diyetisyenin yüz ifadesi, beden dili, kararlı tutumu, gerçekçi hedefler belirlemesi, görünüşü ve özgüvenidir.
Sonuç: Beslenme danışmanlığı ve iş doyumuna ilişkin bu veriler, mesleki kuruluşlar ve eğitim planlayıcıları için yol gösterici olabilir. İş doyumunu etkileyen etmenlerin daha derinlemesine incelenmesi için nitel verilerle desteklenen daha fazla nicel çalışmaya ve iş doyumunu arttıracak faktörlere odaklanan çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır.
