BİTKİ GENETİK KAYNAKLARIN KORUNMASINDA DONDURARAK MUHAFAZA (CRYOPRESERVATION) TEKNİKLERİ VE UYGULAMALARI

Öz

Sahip olduğumuz bitki genetik kaynakları, çevresel ve diğer baskılarla genetik erozyona uğramakta ve yok olma tehlikesi ile karşı karşıya kalmaktadır. Özellikle, tarımı yapılan türlere ait bitki genetik kaynaklarındaki çeşitliliğin korunması, bitkisel üretimin sürdürülebilirliği bakımından zorunludur. Türkiye orijinli türler ulusal gen bankasında ve arazi gen bankalarında muhafaza edilmektedir. Tohumlarında çimlenme sorunu olan yada vejetatif olarak muhafaza edilmelerinde zorluklar yaşanan bazı kültür bitkilerinin dondurularak muhafaza edilme imkanlarının araştırılması büyük önem arz etmektedir. Son yıllarda dondurarak muhafaza konusunda yoğun çalışmalar sürdürülmekte ve en son tekniklerle genetik kaynakların korunmasına ve muhafaza altına alınmasına çalışılmaktadır. Bu derlemede, biyolojik materyalin canlı olarak ultra düşük ısılarda uzun süre muhafaza edilmesi olarak tanımlanan kryoprezervasyon tekniği ile ilgili yöntem, teknik ve uygulamalara ilişkin bilgi verilmeye çalışılmıştır
