Determination of Morpholocigal, Yield and Quality Characteristics of Lavandula Species and Cultivars in Menemen Ecological Conditions

Abstract


ABSTRACT: This study was conducted in order to determine morphological, yield and quality characteristics of Lavandula spp. species and cultivars in Menemen ecological conditions between 2015 and 2016. Eight cultivars belonging to 2 species were used in this study. There were significant differences determined between species and cultivars the end of 2 years. While lavandin type cultivars passed in front of lavander type cultivars in terms of yield traits, the "Provence" cultivar took first place among species and cultivars in terms of essential oil content and essential oil yield. Total 28 components were identified in essential oils. Main components and their respective percentages of essential oil were identified as linalool (%20,70-53,29) linalyl acetate (%1,55-54,58) and camphor (%3,18-11,54).
