This study provides an overview of the second phase of archaeological excavations and research conducted at the Canhasan mounds, a site comprising three distinct mounds. Initiated in 2021, the work encompasses a preliminary assessment of the findings from the last three excavation seasons across all three mounds. The current results, though subject to potential revisions, are presented as an interim evaluation of the data obtained thus far. The investigations employ a variety of methodologies and stages across the three mounds, integrating modern and digital techniques alongside multidisciplinary expertise. While future seasons are expected to yield more robust, analytically supported conclusions –particularly upon completion of post-excavation assessments of fully excavated structures– this study offers a provisional synthesis of the available data. Although the excavations and research methodologies are still in their early stages, their ability to generate detailed insights suggests their efficacy in producing reliable results. However, definitive conclusions remain premature at this juncture. Nevertheless, a comparative analysis with other excavated settlements in the Konya Plain and its surroundings allows for a broader contextual assessment. This work ultimately aims to contribute to the scholarly discourse by documenting preliminary findings while acknowledging the evolving nature of ongoing archaeological research.
