Pandemi Sürecinin Geriatrik Hastaların Acil Servise Tekrar Başvuruları Üzerine Etkisi

Öz

Amaç: Taburculuk sonrası 72 saat içerisinde acil servise yapılan tekrarlayan başvuruların bakım kalitesi ile ilişkili olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada pandemi sürecinde acil servise geriatrik hastalar tarafından yapılan tekrarlayan başvuruların değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

Gereç ve Yöntemler: Ocak 2019-Haziran 2020 tarihleri arasında Nevşehir Devlet Hastanesi’ne yapılan 65 yaş üstü hasta başvurularına ait sistem kayıtları retrospektif olarak değerlendirilmiştir.

Bulgular: Hastaların demografik özellikleri, acil servise yapılan başvuru sayılarının aylık dağılımı yıllara göre incelenmiştir. Tekrar başvuru saatleri 0-24, 24-48 ve 48-72. saat aralıkları olarak gruplandırılmış, aylara ve yıllara göre dağılımı değerlendirilmiştir. Pandemi sürecinin bu dağılıma etkisi incelenmiştir.

Sonuç: Pandemi sürecinin etkileri göz önünde bulundurularak; acil servise tekrarlayan başvurularla ilişkili faktörler ele alınıp bakım kalitesinin arttırılması ve acil servis kalabalığının azaltılmasına yönelik çözümler üretilmelidir.

The Effect of The Pandemic Process on Re-Visits of Geriatric Patients to The Emergency Department

Öz

Aim: It is known that revisits to the emergency department within 72 hours of discharge are associated with the quality of care. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate the revisits by geriatric patients to the emergency department during the pandemic period.

Materials and Methods: The data of patients over the age of 65 visits to Nevşehir State Hospital between January 2019 and June 2020 were evaluated retrospectively.

Results: The demographic characteristics of the patients and the monthly distribution of the visits to emergency department were examined according to years. Revisit hours were grouped as 0-24, 24-48 and 48-72, and their distribution according to months and years was evaluated. The effect of the pandemic period on this distribution was examined.

Conclusion: Considering the effects of the pandemic period; factors associated with revisits to emergency department should be addressed, and solutions should be produced to increase the quality of care and reduce the emergency crowding.
