Dukaginzâde Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey ve Nazan Bekiroğlu’nun Bir Aşk Hikâyesi Olan Yusuf ile Züleyha Eserlerinde Temalar Üzerine Karşılaştırılmalı Bir Tahlil

Öz

Yusuf ile Züleyha mesnevîsi, Türk ve İran edebiyatında birçok şair ve yazar tarafından manzum ve mensur olarak kaleme alınan Hz. Yusuf’un ibret verici yaşamını ve Züleyha’nın ona duyduğu aşkı anlatan tarihi bir metindir. Klasik edebiyatta mesnevî tarzında yazılan kıssanın, günümüzde roman türünde yazılanı da vardır. Hem bir şiir biçimi olan mesnevî hem de roman türünde yazılan bu hikâye, konusunu Yusuf sûresi, diğer ismiyle Ahsenü’l-Kasas’tan (Kıssaların en güzeli) alır. Klasik edebiyatta birçok şair tarafından eserlerine konu edilen bu kıssada öne çıkan isimlerden biri, Dukaginzâde Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey’in mesnevîsidir. Bu mesnevîde rüyalar üzerinde şekillenen Hz. Yusuf’un hayatı, ağabeyleri ve Züleyha’ya karşı verdiği nefis mücadelesi ele alınır. Nefsine yenik düşmeyip sabır ve teslimiyet yoluyla başarıya ulaşan Hz. Yusuf, bir örnek niteliğinde rol model olarak yansıtılır. Günümüzde ise Nazan Bekiroğlu tarafından kaleme alınan romanda, kurgunun ruhuna uygun anlatım metot ve teknikleriyle Hz. Yusuf’un başından geçen olaylar zengin anlatım ve betimlemelerle okura sunulur. 16. yüzyılda Dukaginzâde Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey tarafından yazılan eser ile 21. yüzyılda Nazan Bekiroğlu’nun eserinde, bir kadın bakışıyla Türk edebiyatında birçok dine ve millete mal olmuş Yusuf ile Züleyha hikâyesinin geldiği yer ve değer, tematik inceleme ve karşılaştırma yöntemiyle çalışmaya yansıtılmaktadır.

A Comparative Analysis on the Themes in the Works of Dukaginzâde Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey and Nazan Bekiroğlu’s Joseph and Zuleikha, a Love Story

Abstract

The story of Joseph and Zuleikha has been written in both verse and prose by many poets and writers in Turkish and Iranian literature. It tells the story of Joseph’s exemplary life and Zuleikha’s love for him. In classical literature, it is written in the style of mesnevi, but in modern times it has also been adapted into the form of a novel. The story, told both as a mesnevi (a type of narrative poetry) and as a novel, takes its subject from Surah Joseph in the Qur’an, also known as Ahsan al-Qasas “The most beautiful of stories”. One of the most prominent works on this subject in classical literature is the mesnevi of Dukaginzâde Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey. In his work, Joseph’s life, his relationship with his brothers, and his struggle against Zuleikha are narrated. The Prophet Joseph does not succumb to his desires and achieves success through patience and submission, thus becoming an exemplary role model. In contrast, the modern novel by Nazan Bekiroğlu presents the events of Joseph’s life with rich narration and detailed descriptions. Both Taşlıcalı Yahya Bey’s mesnevi in the 16th century and Bekiroğlu’s novel in the 21st century demonstrate the lasting place and value of the story of Joseph and Zuleikha in Turkish literature. Thematic analysis of these works highlights how the story, embraced by many religions and nations, especially reflects perspectives on women.
