The place of prophilactic antibiotics in septic arthritis

Abstract

The effects of prophylactic antibiotics in septic arthritis were studied in 45 rabbits. Prophylactic and therapentic antibıotıcs were given in 30 rabbits which were received bacterial inoculum to obkain infected joints. Fifteen animals. with joint sepsis were taken as control group. The use of appropriate prophylactic antibiotics appear to be effective to prevent septic arthritis.
